| LOL fifi, but you enjoyed it isnt it? The blues were lost in that game. Henry was shooting those balls thinking that he was playing the "Shaolin Soccer" LOL. I love the blues, but yesterday I was supporting the Oranges. Todays game is interesting. Am rooting for Spain

LOL fifi, yep its shame portugal didnt win. They were saving Ronaldo for the second round game. Turks are da bomb, they wait for the last few minutes of game ending when they know that their opponents are very tired to score goals, that was an interesting game yesterday. Today is a do or die for the germans.

Netherlands vs. Romania, 17 Jun 8:45pm France vs. Italy, 17 Jun 8:45pm Did you know?Italy exited in dramatic style when they beat Bulgaria 2-1 with a late winner only to discover that moments later the score between Sweden and Denmark had gone to 2-2, enough to take both Scandinavian sides through at the Azzurri's expense. Latvia qualified for the first time but missed out on being the least populous nation to play in the finals – 2000 contenders Slovenia have that honour. Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo saved Darius Vassell's sudden-death penalty for England in the quarter-finals before stepping up to score the shoot-out winner himself. Luiz Felipe Scolari coached Portugal to their quarter-final win against England having led Brazil to victory against the same opponents at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He overcame England again with Portugal in the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals in Germany. Dmitri Kirichenko's 68th-second goal for Russia against Greece was the fastest in any UEFA European Championship final tournament. Wayne Rooney became the youngest ever finals goalscorer when he struck for England against Switzerland – a record he held for four days until Switzerland striker Johan Vonlanthen registered against France aged 18 years, four months and 20 days - three months younger than Rooney. Greece's 1-0 win against Portugal in the final made them the ninth different champion in 12 editions of the UEFA European Championship. Greece's 1-0 win against Portugal in Lisbon was the lowest-scoring final in the tournament's history. Portugal were the first hosts to reach the final since France in 1984 – and the only home nation ever to lose at that stage. Greece won their last four qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2004™ 1-0 – and repeated the trick in their three knockout games in Portugal. Four sets of brothers went to the finals; England's Gary and Phil Neville, the Netherlands' Frank and Ronald de Boer, Sweden's Patrick and Daniel Andersson and Belgium's Emile and Mbo Mpenza. var numNews = 11; var ranNum= Math.round(Math.random()*numNews); var num = Math.floor(Math.random() * (numNews - 1)) + 1; //var num = (ranNum % numNews) + 1; $('news_' + num).show();

Fifi, just like i said yesterday, it was a do or die for the Germans, and they did it, they booked a ticket to second round. Mhh today's game is gonna be a tough one. France is taking on Italy and both have one point each, each will fight hard to win. Lets look at scenario 1: If Romania beats the Dutch, it will be the end of the road for Italy and France. Scenario 2: if the Dutch beat Romania, Italy and France draw(0-0,1-1or 2-2) then the three will have 2 points each, but Romania will proceed to round two because of the goal difference. Scenario 3: If Italy and France draw on a 3-3 goals today (which is wont be possible) then I dont know what will happen coz Romania, Italy and France will have the same points with the same goal difference Scenario 4: If Italy and France draw on a 4-4 then they will go for penalties to determine since they have same points with same goal difference. In short, for either Italy or France to proceed to round 2, one of them have to win today's game, otherwise Romania books a ticket to round two. May the best team win and I hope France goes to round 2

It was so sad to see the French go home, but anyway thats the game of soccer, you lose or you win. Playing one man less after their pro was injured was a daunting task. Lets see whats gonna happen in today's matches, Spain has already booked a ticket to round two, its gonna be a fight between Russia and Sweden for a slot in round two, and as usual may the best team win, Sweden please dont disappoint me

Thanks khristie, so the result between Spain and Greece is insignificant?

The result between Greece and Spain is not really insignificant, but whichever way, Greece has already packed to go back to Athens, Corinthos etc, coz even if they win the game tonight, they will only have 3 points. Sweden and Russia already have three points, so a win to any of them will take it to round 2, and a draw will result to penalty kicks. Parakalo Greeks, efharisto pilo for the tournament σας ευχαριστούμε και αντίο

Former Euro cup champs went home with an egg(0) in the basket, such a shame. I was sad to see Sweden go home, but slept a happy person after Spain bagged 9 points yesterday. Today's game is an interesting and a tough one, Portugal Vs Germany. Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani please dont disappoint me por favor!
